Who attends Venture Academy’s Summer Semester?
Many parents are faced with the dilemma of providing support and supervision for their teen throughout the summer months. Too much idle time, not enough structure, and resistance to engaging in traditional summertime and family activities can cause problems. The risk of becoming a troubled teen rises with every day without a plan.
Venture Academy provides structured and supervised programming that is often chosen as an alternative to a summer camp for struggling teens or boot camp for troubled teens in Canada. Our skilled counsellors and teachers are experienced in providing assistance for troubled teens with behavioural challenges that may be accompanied by a clinically diagnosed disorder such as:
- Teenagers Hiking
- Attention Deficit Disorder – ADD, ADHD
- Oppositional Defiant Disorder – ODD
- Conduct Disorder
- Learning Disorders
- Social Anxiety Disorder
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Aspergers (previously classified)
- Concurrent Disorder
At Venture Academy, it is our belief that all struggling teens can do better. We provide that opportunity for struggling teens and students to take advantage of our therapeutic environment and intervention plans throughout the summer months. Many youth have been struggling only recently due to a change in focus, change in peer relationships, drug and alcohol use, or underlying conflict at home.
Whatever your child’s circumstances are, or whatever the reasons for your child’s current situation, our Summer Semester is here to help.
We serve a student population who are or may be:
- showing a lack of interest in school
- poor academic performance
- learning difficulties such as ADHD, ODD,
- problematic and self destructive behaviours
- family conflict
Don’t consider your child a “troubled teen”? No problem. Our summer semester is not restricted to those with serious challenges but is rather considered a therapeutic environment for a wide range of Canadian students.
