Young Teen Girl Overcoming Difficulties in SchoolFor many struggling students, the academic arena presents challenges and obstacles that seem nearly impossible to overcome. Typically, these students are not thriving in a regular classroom setting designed for larger numbers characteristic of public schools and even traditional boarding schools. Due to a need for individual attention and approach from the teachers, students can be labeled as slow learners or troubled teens and may be seen as disruptive to the rest of the class. Students may become alienated from their teachers, schools, and friends often resulting in under-achievement, academic failure, school suspensions, frustrated parents, and students who are seemingly outcast from the regular classroom setting and educational system.

Approach

At Venture Academy, we continue your child’s education with a focus on learning and catching up on lost credits. As part of our treatment programs, our team can develop an individualized curriculum based on the recommendations of the Psycho-Educational Assessment and results from academic testing (if chosen).

The primary focus is on core subjects with other courses integrated as applicable. Individualized instruction and engaging interaction help to restore confidence and get our students back on track. We also teach essential learning strategies that help students learn how to study, prepare assignments and manage their time. All of these elements work together to increase their level of academic readiness. Upon pending graduation or planning for return to the student’s school or other identified school, we can include recommendations for continued success.

Since 2001, Venture Academy has been the number one choice for many parents looking for a boarding school or boot camp alternative school for troubled teens in Canada.
