Land Acknowledgement

As Venture Academy continues to build a culture of inclusion and respect, land acknowledgement provides an opportunity to recognize the Indigenous Peoples whose history is deeply rooted in the land where Venture Academy’s services are provided.

Venture Academy recognizes that our services in Red Deer Alberta are situated on Treaty 7 land, the traditional territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T’ina and Stoney Nakoda peoples, and that the central Alberta region we serve falls under Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree and Saulteaux territory.

Venture Academy recognizes that our services in Barrie Ontario are situated on the traditional territory of the Haudensaunee (Iroquois), Ojibway/Chippewa and Anishnabek and that this territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties.

We are dedicated to honouring Indigenous history and culture and recognize the enduring presence of Indigenous peoples on these lands. We are committed to moving forward in the spirit of reconciliation and respect with all First Nations, Métis, and Inuit People.
